Tulane Athletics Fund Shatters Membership Record! All-Americans Matt Forte and Shooter Hunt Among New Donors as Membership Tops 2,800 NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane Athletics Fund (TAF), the official fundraising arm of the Green Wave athletics department, achieved record-setting membership this past year, Tulane Athletic Director Rick Dickson announced today. Membership in TAF, the athletics annual fund which supports all of Tulane’s sports programs and student-athletes, increased by nearly 30% for the 2007-08 fiscal year that ended June 30. The final number of TAF donors was 2,863, an increase of more than 650 over the 2006-07 record of 2,210. These donors combined to contribute more than $1.9 million over the 2007-08 year. Included in this count are the newest members of TAF, All-Americans Matt Forte (football) and Shooter Hunt (baseball), who both recently began their professional playing careers. “The significant increase in membership in TAF is a measurable indicator of Tulane Athletics’ continued progress,” Dickson said. “This sends a loud and clear message to Tulanians across the country that we are moving forward in a positive way.
