Dear Green Wave Fans,

Last week was definitely in the all-time Top 10 Best Weeks for Tulane Athletics, but this week is another great one!

It was terrific to see the outpouring of support for Tulane Athletics during last week’s Homecoming festivities. There were so many exciting events--from the Hall of Fame induction to the Hullabaloo Auction to the official naming of Yulman Stadium, Benson Field and the Glazer Family Club! We didn’t come away with a win against Rice but the tenacity and grit displayed by our student-athletes continue to be a very positive harbinger of things to come.

Tomorrow is the official start of men’s and women’s basketball and what better way to kick things off than with the unveiling of the new Devlin Fieldhouse, home of Tulane basketball and volleyball!

The building got a total makeover thanks to the generosity of Tulane Board member Bob Devlin and his wonderful wife Kate. The Devlins were so moved by the commitment of our student-athletes, in competition, the community and the classroom, that they became actively involved in the renovation to give our kids a great Home Court Advantage.

Please join us Friday as the Green Wave women’s basketball team christens the new Fieldhouse when they take on Louisiana Tech. You will be bowled over by what you see: a newly renovated lobby with historic elements; new ticketing and concessions; and an all new seating bowl with plush chair backs and contoured bench seating. There’s more, much more, but please come see for yourself. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
