NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane volleyball team placed three on the All-Louisiana teams, as sophomore outside hitter Visnja Djurdjevic was named to the first team while senior setter Rachel Lindelow and senior outside hitter Ksenija Vlaskovic earned second team honors.
Djurdjevic, a First Team All-Conference USA selection finished second in C-USA and 23rd in the NCAA in kills per set with 4.33. She also led the conference in points per set (4.91) and ranked 12th in digs per set (3.34) and also leads the conference in service aces (.40 per set). A native of Zitiste, Serbia, the sophomore was the only league player to rank in the Top 20 in the conference in kills, aces, points and digs.
She posted 11 of her 17 double-doubles (all kills and digs) in league play, including a career-high 29 kills and a school-record 36 digs against SMU on Sept. 27. She posted 4.57 kills per set in C-USA action, with 3.29 digs and conference leading 5.21 points per set in C-USA action.
Lindelow, a native of Mandeville, La., rounded out her Tulane career with a total of 3,236 assists, fourth in Tulane history. Her 10.93 assists per set this season rank 33rd in the NCAA this season, and third in Conference USA. She earned Second Team C-USA honors after posting double-figures in assists in all 28 matches, a streak which stretches back to 2008 for 51 straight matches. Lindelow reached 30 or more assists in 22 of 28 matches with eight matches with over 50 assists, including a career-high 68 against SMU on Sept. 27.
She also turned in 15 double-doubles with 16 matches reaching double-digits in digs. Her 868 career digs rank 15th in Tulane history. Lindelow also averaged 0.29 service aces per set this season, fifth in Conference USA. Her 110 career service aces put her 11th on Tulane's all-time list.
Vlaskovic was a Second Team All-Conference USA selection in 2009, as the Pozarevac, Serbia , native ranked 11th in C-USA in kills per set with 3.29 and 13th in C-USA in points per set with 3.66. Her 0.21 aces per set ranked 20th in C-USA. She recorded double-figure points in 20 of 28 matches and double-figure kills in 17 of 28 matches with seven double-doubles.
She began her career as the 2006 AVCA Midwest Region Freshman of the Year and C-USA Freshman of the Year, earning AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention honors. As a sophomore, she was a First Team All C-USA pick, repeating her AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention accolades.
She ranks third all-time in Tulane history in kills with 1,516 and is one of just 10 players with 1000 or more kills and 700 or more digs. This season, she earned spots on the LSU Tiger Classic All-Tournament Team and the Arizona Wildcat Invitational All-Tournament Team.
The Green Wave finished 18-10 in 2009 under first-year head coach Sinisa Momic, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season. After advancing to the second round in 2008, the Green Wave fell in the first round this season. The Green Wave posted a 12-4 mark in C-USA, placing third in the regular season standings.
