NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane volleyball team looks to remain unbeaten at Fogelman Arena, as the Green Wave take on Stephen F. Austin in a non-conference match Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Green Wave, at 18-5 overall, can run its win-streak at Fogelman Arena to eight with a victory, but face a 17-5 Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks squad which is on an 11-match win streak.
The Green Wave current seven-match win streak at home is the second longest home win streak in Tulane history. Tulane won 13 in a row at home in a span stretch from the 2002 to 2004 seasons. The Green Wave are 6-0 at home this season, winning their final home match of 2006 against UTEP last November.
Stephen F. Austin (17-5 overall, 7-0 in the Southland Conference) has not lost since September 14, against Houston, which is also the last team to beat the Green Wave. Tulane and SFA have played six common opponents (Rice, SMU, Houston, Tulsa, Texas-Pan American and Sam Houston State) with each squad posting a 5-1 record in those matches, with both losses coming to Houston.
Junior outside hitter Sara Radosevic can move into eighth on Tulane's all-time kill list with nine more kills. She is now ninth with 1,225 and sits nine behind Anastasia Kenon (2001-04) for eighth place. At her current pace of 5.06 kills per game, she would pass Alicia Robertson's (1991-94) career record of 1,963 in 146 more games.
Radosevic leads Tulane and is sixth in Conference USA with 4.38 kills per game this season. The Green Wave lead Conference USA in hitting percentage and kills, with sophomore outside Ksenija Vlaskovic (4.27 kills per game) sitting in eighth in C-USA and junior right side Bridget Wells (3.72 KPG) joining Radosevic to form a potent offense. Wells has posted 14-consecutive matches with double-figure kills and is second in C-USA with a .349 hitting percentage in conference-only matches.
Sophomore libero Jenn Miller posted her fifth career 30+ dig match on Sunday at Rice, saving 30 balls in a 3-1 win over the Owls. She finished one off her season-high of 31, and five back of her career-best mark of 35. The San Pedro California native is second in Conference USA in digs per game with 5.16
