Overall thoughts on the match
"Overall, we were able - from the middle of each set to the end - create a buffer and keep it going. Our serving was much better than usual today and that was the difference with us. Offensively, I think we can play much better than this. We worked a lot on serving throughout the week and it transferred to this match. It was a good win for us."
On Tulane's performance at the serving stripe
"We're usually too timid to make errors, which results in errors anyway but not enough aces. We decided to go after it and score aces and we were able to do that because we were going after it. We still had some errors, but as long as you have close to a 1-to-1 ratio, we'll be fine. Up until now, our ratio was closer to something like one ace for every seven errors. This is a huge improvement in serving which shows our potential. Serving is something that has improved as the year has gone along and that is encouraging."
On the play of the Green Wave defense
"I think our passing and our floor defense wasn't bad. We were not able to convert those sometimes, but overall, we were pretty steady. It helped us build that buffer and we were able to keep going."
On his team not giving in after having some lulls inoffensive production
"I think the big thing is confidence. The team is beginning to realize that they can compete with any of the best teams in this conference and that we can play well when we follow the game plan. We were making the same mistakes over and over again, and eventually, we figured there would be less and less. We just have to keep working. We see now that we're good enough. In a couple of matches, we kind of got down on ourselves and our level of play went down. Our confidence now is pretty good and now we have to just avoid those mistakes. Sometimes, they get a little quite for some reason, but it's coming along. Creating a positive atmosphere is important and we just need to stay positive and productive."
