"It was a team effort today. We improved on some of the things that plagued us against Southern Miss late in the match, and we didn't let this one get away. We held on for the 3-0 win. That's progress, and we'll have to keep that momentum going as we continue in our Conference matches."
On his team's defense vs UCF
"Our block was important today. They were attacking from the left side primarily, they didn't use their middles much and our middles had time to close the block. It was just up to us to set up the block, jump at the right moment, and play defense around it. We did that, most of the time. If we can do that five or six times in a row like we're supposed to, we can gain a good lead and close that game. That's what happened today."
On the Green Wave's Recent Struggles to Close Matches
"I think we're at the point where we know what we're doing wrong (late in matches) but we're not able to consistently stop those things. Now we have to find a way to deal with those things. Everybody on the court, all six of the time, add one or two mistakes per game that shouldn't be there. And that adds up to 12. We have to understand at what level we need to play. We have to make sure we eliminate those errors."
On Tulane's Upcoming Matches
"We have a schedule ahead of us, where if we do our best, we can make a lot of things happen for us and stay within the first three teams. Starting today, we have to stop being so inconsistent and work on our blocking on the right side. I think we showed improvement today, not all the time, but in general. It was a good 3-0 win for us. Now we have to build momentum and step up in practice. From now on, we have good chance to beat anyone we play. It's up to us against the schedule we have from this point on."
