Tulane Downs Memphis, 3-1; Earns First Conference USA Win Of The Season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Tulane volleyball team (7-6, 1-3) rolled over the Memphis Tigers (7-9, 1-3), 3-1, on Friday evening and recorded its first Conference USA victory of the season.

The Wave jumped ahead early and took the first two games of the match 15-6, 15-9, before falling to the Tigers in the third 6-15. Tulane sealed the victory with a 15-7 win in the fourth game.

Lacey Vicknair hit .310 and recorded a match high six blocks along with 13 kills to lead the Wave Friday evening. Kim Sentmore put down a match high 21 kills, while Ashley Reese hit .346 with 12 kills. Lindsey Bennett had Tulaneās only double-double performance as she posted 10 kills and 11 digs.

For Memphis, Rosie Glenn had a team high 14 kills and 16 digs, while Lindsay Bax recorded 11 kills.

The Green Wave heads to Birmingham, Ala., for its second C-USA match of the weekend. Tulane takes on UAB at 2 p.m., on Sunday Oct. 3rd.
