A two-year veteran of the Green Wave program, Masharika Prejan beginsher first year as a student assistant with the Tulane volleyball team.
In addition to helping in all aspects of the team's practices, Prejean is the primary video editor, assists with all office correspondence and scout tapes. She will also be responsible for breaking down match and practice footage, and facilitating team travel arrangements.
Prejean, who transferred from Duke to Tulane in 2001, lettered for the Green Wave from 2001-02 and helpied the team post its first winning season since 1994 as a sophomore before assisting the 2002 team to a 21-win season last year. She is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Pre-Med Society.
A native of Lafayette, La., and 2000 graduate of Teurlings High, Prejean was a four-year volleyball standout where she earned all-district honors all four years and claimed all-state recognition as a junior and senior. She also lettered four times in basketball and once in track. Off the court, she was a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Key Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
A political economy major, Prejean is slated to complete her degree in May 2004.
