Dear Prospective student athletes, parents, and fans-

The Tulane University women's tennis program is once again returning to the court in the fall of 2008. This is a very exciting time for all who are, and will be, involved in this adventure. To say that I am excited to be a part of the Tulane University athletic family is truly an understatement. For many years I kept up with this prestigious program and watched the Green Wave teams evolve into a perennial conference champion and national powerhouse, which is an incredible feat in the world of tennis mainly because usually the larger schools dominate in this field.

As you are aware, in August 2005 Hurricane Katrina was not a friend to the Gulf Coast of many states and unfortunately New Orleans was affected as well. With that being said, Tulane was forced to suspend several of their sports. However, as everyone knew, Tulane has rebounded stronger than ever. Enrollment has seen an increase of over 48% in new first time freshmen and has had close to 17,000 applications for this freshmen class. No one can deny that so many students and student-athletes truly want to be a part of this university.

I am truly honored to be the coach who has the tremendous opportunity to rebuild this program. The response to our program returning has been an OVERWHELMING and I have seen tremendous excitement from players, parents, and fans from around the globe. This kind of response shows the success Tulane has had in all arenas from academics to athletics. From a coaching standpoint, this is an exciting quest. In the first two weeks of my tenure, we are proud to say we have had over 200 player visits to our tennis recruiting website. This is an impressive statistic considering there over 2,500 schools in the United States.

I would encourage all prospective student-athletes and parents to take the time and seriously look at Tulane and our women's tennis program. I have received numerous questions ranging from safety to facilities to overall support of our program. I will say that I have found that our athletic and administrative staff is second to none and they have taken great strides to ensure the success of our program. I welcome phone calls and emails if you have any questions or want to come down for a visit and see exactly what is going on here at Tulane. It is very exciting and truly an inspiring story. I do hope that you will want to be a part of history as we once again rejoin the wonderful world of women's collegiate tennis.
