NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Tulane University men's and women's tennis teams will host free clinics for Tulane faculty, staff and students this Friday beginning at 10 a.m. at the Goldring Tennis Complex.

The teams will welcome all faculty and staff members to the first session, which will run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., the Green Wave will be available to instruct all interested students in a second one-hour session.

All levels of tennis players are welcome to attend the free clinics by the two nationally-ranked programs.

Participants are required to bring their own racket and tennis shoes (no running shoes).

"We would like to thank the entire university for their support for our teams so far this year," Tulane men's tennis coach Robert Klein said. "We hope to introduce some people to the game of tennis and maybe improve on someone's forehand or backhand. But the most important thing is to help people enjoy the game a little bit more. It's a way for us to give something back. We hope to have similar events in the future."

The Tulane men's team, ranked No. 43 in the nation, will host the Conference USA Men's Tennis Championship next weekend (April 19-22) at Goldring Tennis Complex and Aurora Country Club. The women's team, meanwhile, is ranked No. 42 in the country. It handed previously undefeated UNO a 7-0 loss on Tuesday and will be in action at the C-USA Women's Championship at Southern Miss on the same weekend. The Green Wave women close their regular season by hosting Marquette on Monday at 4 p.m.
