New Orleans - Tulane's 39th-ranked women's tennis team will face two crucial late season tests this week when it treks to Florida to battle a pair of opponents, beginning with Florida International on Tuesday at 11 a.m. CST in Miami, and on Thursday at 11 a.m. CST against No. 63 South Florida in Tampa.

Tulane is 11-6 overall and enters the week with wins in eight out of its last 10 matches and sporting 1-2 road record. However, the Green Wave did notch its biggest win of the year in its last road contest, a 4-3 upset victory over No. 38 Georgia State in Atlanta on March 3.

Tulane's line-up features 92nd-ranked Klara Vyskocilova with a 16-6 overall record at the top spot and Emma Levy at the No. 2 spot with a team-high 18 wins and the senior has won her last eight contests. Senior Caroline Magnusson has held up the bottom spots in the line-up with a 12-10 record, but more importantly has won her last six outings, while freshman Ipek Birol has played in the middle of the line-up and features an 11-6 overall mark.

In doubles, Magnusson and teammate Caroline Thornton have a team-best 13-8 overall mark, while Levy and classmate Hila Elster have a perfect 7-0 record.

"We are really excited to start our Florida swing against two solid teams," Tulane head coach Terri Sisk said. "Both teams will present challenges and we realize that we have to continue to play disciplined tennis in order to continue to develop. This will be a great test for us in preparation for the heat in Houston in late April."

FIU is 2-11 overall this season, including 2-7 at home, while South Florida is 8-5 overall and enters Thursday's contest riding a five-match win streak and has a record of 6-2 on its home courts.
