Women's Tennis Ranked 35th
March 23, 1999 NEW ORLEANS, La. - - The Tulane women's tennis team is ranked 35th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, released by the ITA on Tuesday. The Green Wave improved from 70th to 35th this week, marking the highest ranking in the program's history. Individually, Anna Monhartova is ranked 92nd, falling from 83rd, despite having compiled a 14-0 record in singles play this season. Tulane head coach Jennifer Melius earned an impressive honor of her own, recording her 200th career victory with Tulane's 9-0 win over Conference USA rival UAB on Sunday. In 10 seasons at Tulane, Melius has compiled a 141-77 record as the Green Wave coach and is 200-128 in 14 seasons overall.
Tulane returns to action on Saturday, as the Green Wave travel to Orlando, Fla., to take on Central Florida.
