New Orleans - Tulane's 48th-ranked women's tennis team will put its new Top-50 ranking to the test this Sunday at 9 a.m. when the Green Wave hosts Conference USA rival UAB at the City Park Pepsi Center. There is no charge for admission.
Tulane (6-5) is coming off its biggest upset victory since the program returned in 2008-09 following a 4-3 road win at No. 38 Georgia State last week. The Green Wave is 4-1 at home this season and has won its last three straight contests on its home courts. Tulane is also 3-1 in C-USA matches this season.
UAB comes to the Crescent City with an 8-3 overall mark, including a 1-0 conference record. The Blazers are only 1-2 in road matches this season, but are coming off consecutive wins over Emory University and Southern Miss.
"We are happy to be playing at home again for our incredible fans," Tulane head coach Terri Sisk said. "With UAB being a conference match, we need to make sure we are playing very focused and disciplined tennis."
The Blazers will mark the first of two straight home matches for the Green Wave. Following Sunday's match, TU returns to action on Wednesday, March 13 against Illinois State at 2 p.m.
The Green Wave women's tennis team will play all of its home matches this spring at the City Park Pepsi Center.
