New Orleans - The 56th-ranked Tulane women's tennis team will host a doubleheader on Sunday against Southeastern Louisiana (12 p.m.) and Xavier (La.) (4 p.m.) at the City Park Pepsi Center. There is no charge for admission to the match and free tailgating will be available to fans.
Tulane (1-3) is coming off a narrow 4-3 loss to Nicholls State on Friday and will look to snap a three-match skid, while Southeastern Louisiana is 1-0 after topping Alcorn State, 4-0, on the road in its season opener. Xavier opened its season on Friday with a 9-0 win at home against Loyola.
"We are looking forward as a team to competing tomorrow," Tulane head coach Terri Sisk said. "We had a great practice today and acknowledged some weaknesses that had to come to light and we addressed them accordingly. With that being said, we will come out tomorrow and start fast out of the gate with a purpose."
Following Sunday's matches, TU remains at home during the first half of February with matches against No. 21 Auburn (Feb. 14) and No. 62 South Florida (Feb. 16).
The Green Wave women's tennis team will play all of its home matches this spring at the City Park Pepsi Center. The City Park Pepsi Tennis Center features 16 hard and 10 clay courts, a clubhouse with a pro shop, restrooms, showers and a meeting room. The facility is located off Marconi Blvd. between I-610 and Harrison Avenue. For more information on City Park Pepsi Center, please visit http://www.neworleanscitypark.com/tennis.html.
