NEW ORLEANS - The Green Wave women's tennis team rolled past Rice University, 8-0, Sunday, at the Goldring Tennis Complex.

Tulane (9-6) swept the singles competition, 6-0. No. 2 Maiko Cook, No. 4 Jessica Kessler, No. 5 Anneli Axsater, and No. 6 Olga Mikhailova all won their matches in straight sets.

Doubles play was suspended when rain interrupted the final match. Tulane won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches, 8-4, 8-4, respectively.

This marked the second shutout of the season for the Green Wave. Their first shutout of the season occurred on February 3 against Southern Miss.

Tulane's will next play Monday, March 27, 2000, at noon vs. Middle Tennessee State University at the Goldring Tennis Complex on Tulane's campus.
