Fall 2003: Won five straight matches to close the Fall season.
Spring 2003: Earned All-America honors in doubles, along with partner Julie Smekodub, after ending the season ranked 10th by the ITA... Was chosen as the Conference USA Player of the Year and the C-USA Freshman of the Year... Named first-team All-Conference USA... Selected as the ITA Southwest Region Co-Freshman of the Year... Earned a berth in the singles draw of the NCAA Tournament... Was 18-3 in singles during dual match play, with 13 consecutive wins at one point... Was 11-3 at No. 2 singles and 7-0 at No. 1 singles... Was 3-2 against ranked players in singles competition... Also earned a berth into the doubles draw of the NCAA Tournament, reaching the Round of 16... Finished the season with a 17-6 record in doubles, including a 14-6 mark with Smekodub... Entered the spring ranked No. 1 in doubles by the ITA... Was named Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year... Was named Conference USA Player of the Week on March 11 and March 19... Fall 2002: Won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Indoor Doubles title with partner Julie Smekodub... The national championship marked Tulane's first-ever national title in a women's sport and the first individual national crown in any sport since 1955... Was 11-3 in singles competition during the fall... Won all four matches at the Country Club of Mobile Labor Day Tournament... Also won all three of her matches at the Green Wave Classic... Teamed with Smekodub to win the ITA Southwest doubles title to earn a berth into the National Indoors... Teamed with Smekodub to post an 11-2 record in doubles play, including 11 straight victories.
Prep: Won the 1999 under-16 German Junior championship... Represented Germany in the European Junior Championships in 1999... Also played in the Helveti Cup in Athens, Greece... Has won multiple Saxonian state championships... Ranked as high as 81st by the Deutscher Tennisbund (German tennis federation)... Ranked among the Top 10 German juniors... Attended East Valley High School in Redlands, Calif., for one year.
Personal: Jenny Kuhn was born January 14, 1983... The daughter of Dieter and Uta Kuhn... Father played for the German Democratic Republic national soccer team in the 1980 Olympics, winning a silver medal... Has a brother, Andre, who also plays tennis and soccer.
