Fall 2003: Reached the semifinals of the ITA Southwest Regional.

Spring 2003: Was named third-team All-Conference USA... Battled injuries through much of the spring to finish with an 8-10 record... Was 14-7 in doubles with partner Nancy Kockott, primarily playing at the No. 2 spot... The duo were also 3-0 at No. 1 doubles... Was also 1-1 in doubles with Lucy Wood.

Fall 2002: Posted a 9-4 record in the fall season, including three wins at the Texas A&M Round Robin Tournament... Reached the Round of 16 at the ITA Southwest Regional... Upset No. 67 Kendra Strohm at the Green Wave Classic.

Spring 2002: Selected as the Conference USA Freshman of the Year... Was also a first-team All-Conference USA honoree... Finished the spring with a 12-6 record, with four of those losses coming against ranked opponents... Named Conference USA Player of the Week on March 5 after posting a pair of wins over ranked opponents... Ranked as high as 87th by the ITA... Joined the Green Wave at the start of the spring semester and won her first six matches... Also had wins in 10 of her first 12 matches... Was 4-4 against ranked opponents... Recorded a 6-1 showing at the No. 2 spot... Played her final 11 matches at the No. 1 spot... Posted a 6-5 overall record when playing No. 1 singles... Recorded a win over Vanderbilt's 82nd-ranked Katie Blaszak... Also posted a victory over 96th ranked Katrin Gaber of TCU... Won four of her six matches that went three sets... Was 8-7 at No. 1 doubles with partner Joyce Bergman... Turned in a 2-2 mark at No. 2 doubles with fellow freshman Ana Saaibi... Named Freshman of the Year by the Louisiana Sports Writers' Association... Was also a first-team All-Louisiana selection.

Prep: Attended Marryatville High School in Marryatville, SA, Australia... Played both No. 1 and No. 2 singles for coach Sue Coligan... Helped lead the school to SSASA National Team titles in 1998, 1999 and 2001... Was team captain and undefeated in both singles and doubles... The team also won the 2001 Wilson Cup after finishing third in 2000... Listed among the top 10 in the Australian girls under-18 rankings in 2000... Was also among the Top 8 in the national under-16 rankings in 1999... Ranked as the No. 1 Pennant Player in South Australia in 2001.

Personal: Maria Ivanov was born Nov. 11, 1983 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, which was then a member of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR)... The daughter of Pavel and Elena Ivanov... Intends to major in business... Has a younger sister, Darya, is a member of the Green Wave tennis team.
