Green Wave opens with the first of three home matches this weekend
Career Note: A three-year letterwinner who enters her senior campaign with career records of 19-24 in singles play and 12-17 in doubles action.
2010-11: Played in four singles matches and two doubles matches as a junior and concluded the year with a 3-1 singles record and was 1-1 in doubles action...dropped her first singles of the year, but rebounded with three wins, including a pair of victories in dual matches, to finish the season...teamed with Marcela Fonseca for a 1-1 doubles mark...named the Tulane Student-Athlete of the Week on April 18.
2009-10: Played in 11 matches as a sophomore, going 4-7 in singles play and 6-2 in doubles action...played in just three singles matches in dual-match competition, going 1-2 at No. 6 with a win vs. Emma Smith of Troy (2/27)...was 3-5 during the fall tournament season...in doubles, teamed with Marcela Fonseca to go 6-2 - all in tournament play - including a 3-0 sweep of the Flight 4 Doubles Draw of the Rice Classic from Sept. 25-26...off the court, was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and Tulane's 3.0 Club.
2008-09: Appeared in 29 matches as a true freshman, posting a 12-16 mark in singles play and a 5-14 mark in doubles action...finished tied for second on the team in singles wins (12) with a 9-14 record in dual-match competition and a 3-2 showing in tournament play...went 2-1 at No. 3 singles while going 6-7 at No. 4, 0-6 at No. 5 and 1-0 at No. 6...in doubles play, teamed with Jessica Lange to go 5-8 in dual-match competition with a 4-8 showing at the No. 2 position and a 1-0 record at No. 3...off the court, was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and Tulane's 3.0 Club.
High School: Two-year letterwinner at Heritage Academy for head coach Walker Sahag...helped lead team to 2005 West Virginia state championship and became the first freshmen to win No. 1 state singles championship that year... trained her junior and senior years at Van der Meer Academy in Hilton Head, S.C., winning the 16- and 18-year-old Van der Meer Fall Invitational championships in 2006 and 2007, respectively ...member of the Junior Davis/Fed Cup teams in the Midwest section... achieved a top 16 finish in the super national hardcourts in 2002...also lettered in swimming as a prepster...off the court, maintained a weighted 4.3 grade point average throughout high school, and served as student council president...was a member of the National Honor Roll, Who's Who Among American High School Students, and the Academic Presidential Awards.
Personal: Born Caroline Bray Gerber on March 7, 1990 in Vienna, W.Va...daughter of Richard and Andrea Gerber...has one brother, Chip, and one sister, Kathryn, who played tennis at Clemson University...uncle, Ben Brown III, graduated from Tulane in 1974...majoring in Spanish...a three-year member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Tulane 3.0 Club.
