AKRON, Ohio - Freshman Leslie Christian set a meet record in the 1650-yard freestyle and fellow rookie Linda McEachrane tied for the 100-yard freestyle title as the Tulane University swim team posted a seventh-place finish at the Giant Eagle Zips Invitational Saturday evening at the Ocasek Natatorium.
Christian, who timed a season-low 17:20.44, eclipsed her former mark of 17:37.00 at the North Texas Tri-Meet back on Nov. 15 and surpassed the previous meet record of 17:34.25 held by Katie Upquart of St. Bonaventure.
