2011-12: Swam all nine meets as a true freshman...posted top times of 1:03.95 in the 100 fly at San Diego State (Jan. 10), 1:15.51 in the 100 breast in the preliminaries of the UH Cougar Classic prelims (Nov. 18), 2:11.30 in the 200 fly at the C-USA Championship preliminaries (Feb. 18), 2:19.29 in the 200 IM at LSU (Sept. 30), 4:35.27 at C-USA Championship (Feb. 17), 5:17.82 in the 500 free at the Houston Tri-Meet (Jan. 28), 10:45.27 in the 1000 free vs North Texas (Oct. 15) and 18:02.16 in the 1650 free at the C-USA Championship (Feb. 18)...tallied a pair of individual third-place finishes: in the 1000 free vs North Texas and the 400 IM vs Vanderbilt...away from the pool, claimed C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Tulane 3.0 Club recognition.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at Vacaville High...helped the Bulldogs win three Monticello-Empire League titles...as a senior, won league's 200 IM and 100 fly and was a member of the 200 medley relay team...also finished second in the 400 free relay with an anchor split of 53.67.

Personal: Born Laura Rae Turpen on May, 21, 1993, in Vallejo, Calif...daughter of Thomas and Ann Turpen...has one brother, Jeremy, and two sisters: Chandra and Colleen...proposed major is public health.
