Career Notes: Two-year letterwinner participated in 17 career meets...holds the No. 3 individual marks in Tulane history in the one-meter springboard (249.45 vs Vanderbilt on Nov. 2, 2013), three-meter springboard (264.80 at West Florida on Oct. 11, 2013) and in the platform (179.40 at the Conference USA Championship on Feb. 23, 2013)...also ranks eighth and 13th overall in the one meter, fifth, 11 and 15th in the three meter, and eighth, 10th, 12 and 13th in the platform.
2013-14: Competed in all nine meets as a sophomore...posted career-best scores of 249.45 in the one-meter springboard vs Vanderbilt (Nov. 2) and 264.80 in the three-meter springboard at West Florida (Oct. 11) to go with a season-best 154.05 in the platform at the Conference USA Championship (March 1)...tallied four top three individual finishes with second-place showings in both the one- and three-meter vs Vanderbilt while finishing second in the three-meter and third in the one-meter vs UALR (Oct. 12)...away from the pool, claimed C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Tulane 3.0 Club recognition.
2012-13: Participated in eight meets as a true freshman...posted a career-high score of 179.40 in the platform at the Conference USA Championship (Feb. 23) as well as season-high scores of 232.50 in the one-meter springboard at San Diego State (Jan. 7) as well as 223.05 in the three-meter springboard at the C-USA meet (Feb. 21)...had five top three finishes with individual victories in the one- and three-meter springboards at San Diego State, a second-place showing in the one-meter at UALR (Oct. 6) and third-place performances in the one- and three-meter elevations at Vanderbilt (Nov. 3) .
High School: Four-year letterwinner at Campolindo High for coach Marie Estorage...won the league meet and made both cuts in the sectionals as a freshman...also lettered in soccer...away from the pool, Kjell was a Bronze, Silver and Gold Award recipient as a member of the Girl Scouts.
Personal: Born Maren Kjell on Feb. 28, 1994, in Phoenix, Ariz...daughter of Nils and Janice Kjell...has one sister, Emily...majoring in health and wellness.
