2013-14: Swam in all nine meets as a junior...posted career-best times of 58.94 in the 100 free at San Diego State (Jan. 10) and 1:04.55 in the 100 back at North Texas (Jan. 18) as well as a 2:09.39 in the 200 fly (March 1), 2:10.85 in the 200 IM (Feb. 27) and 4:34.13 in the 400 IM (Feb. 28) during the preliminaries of the Conference USA Championship (March 1) to go with season-best mark of 1:01.13 in the 100 fly vs Vanderbilt (Nov. 2)...top individual finish was a third-place showing in the 400 IM vs UALR (Oct. 12)...in relay action, swam the third leg of the 400 medley at LSU on Oct. 25 and anchored the 200 free at the Phill Hansel Invitational (Nov. 21)...away from the pool, claimed C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Tulane 3.0 Club recognition.

2012-13: Participated in seven meets as a sophomore...posted a career-best time of 59.37 in the 100 fly at the LSU Quad Meet (Jan. 25) to go with season-best marks of 2:11.64 in the 200 IM (Jan. 25) and 4:34.32 in the 400 IM (Jan. 26) at the LSU Quad Meet as well as a 2:13.75 in the 200 fly and 10:46.83 in the 100 free vs North Texas (Oct. 20)...top individual finish was a second-place performance in the 200 IM at UALR (Oct. 6)...away from the pool, claimed C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Tulane 3.0 Club recognition.

2011-12: Swam all nine meets as a true freshman...posted top times of 1:03.95 in the 100 fly at San Diego State (Jan. 10), 1:15.51 in the 100 breast in the preliminaries of the UH Cougar Classic prelims (Nov. 18), 2:11.30 in the 200 fly at the C-USA Championship preliminaries (Feb. 18), 2:19.29 in the 200 IM at LSU (Sept. 30), 4:35.27 at C-USA Championship (Feb. 17), 5:17.82 in the 500 free at the Houston Tri-Meet (Jan. 28), 10:45.27 in the 1000 free vs North Texas (Oct. 15) and 18:02.16 in the 1650 free at the C-USA Championship (Feb. 18)...tallied a pair of individual third-place finishes: in the 1000 free vs North Texas and the 400 IM vs Vanderbilt...away from the pool, claimed C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Tulane 3.0 Club recognition.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at Vacaville High...helped the Bulldogs win three Monticello-Empire League titles...as a senior, won league's 200 IM and 100 fly and was a member of the 200 medley relay team...also finished second in the 400 free relay with an anchor split of 53.67.

Personal: Born Laura Rae Turpen on May, 21, 1993, in Vallejo, Calif...daughter of Thomas and Ann Turpen...has one brother, Jeremy, and two sisters: Chandra and Colleen...majoring in public health.
