New Orleans - On Saturday, Nov. 14, the Tulane women's golf team continued their tradition of giving back to the New Orleans community as the group hit the links for the Lakewood Golf Club Junior Golf Program at the Lakewood Golf Course.

There were 25-30 boys and girls were on hand for the event. Tulane head coach John Thomas Horton and his 2009-10 Green Wave roster of juniors Linn Gustafsson and Janine Fellows, along with sophomores Ashley McKenney, Samantha Troyanovich and Stephanie Wagstaff and the freshmen duo of Sage Roth and Maribel Lopez Porras broke up into groups and gave instruction on putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and bunker work.

The collegians demonstrated their abilities by hitting some shots, drives and even threw in some trick shots for the group.

"We were thrilled to be a part of something special with this junior program at Lakewood," Horton said. "This team loves the chance to give back to their fans and supporters and of course spread their knowledge of the game to the juniors of New Orleans. We had a great time."
