NEW ORLEANS - Tulane women's golfer Meghan Bolger was named the Conference USA women's golf Athlete of the Month, the league office announced Tuesday.
Bolger, a senior from Haddonfield, N.J., earned the honor after posting a team-low 75.67 stroke average for the month of October. She opened the month with the best finish of her collegiate career, a tie for third, at the Beacon Woods Invitational, shooting a three-round total of 222. Included in the effort was a final-round 72, the low round of her career.
She also put forth a solid effort at the Lady Paladin Invitational, carding a total of 232 to tie for 26th place individually. Tulane had a top-10 finish in each of the tournaments that Bolger participated in last month.
In four events this fall, Bolger has the second-lowest stroke average on the team at 77.08. She also has two top-25 finishes to her credit.
The Tulane women's golf team has finished fall competition. The team will next be in action March 6-8 at the Spartan Invitational in Monterey, Calif.
