AUBURN, Ala. -- The Tulane women's golf team is in 11th place after the first round of the Auburn Tiger Derby Invitational being played at the Auburn University Club in Auburn, Ala. Host Auburn and Mississippi State are tied for the team lead at nine-over par 297 while the Green Wave combined for a score of 321 Friday.

Newcomer Caroline Landmann led the Green Wave with a five over par 77 and is tied for 24th place. Sophomore Kathy Schafer carded a 78 and is in a group tied for 32nd while senior Pam Buff tallied a nine-over par 81.

The Green Wave is five strokes behind Alabama and Mississippi, who are tied for 9th, and eight strokes behind eighth place Florida State. LSU is third, six strokes behind the leaders.
