Freshman Emily Penttila and senior Maribel Lopez Porras each fired a 3-over 75 today and Penttila is sitting in 36th place, while Porras is tied with sophomore Gemma Dryburgh in 40th place. Today Dryburgh, who was TU's first round leader, shot a 6-over 78.
Freshman Silvia Garces went to the clubhouse with a 5-over 77 and is holding down 70th place.
Tulane will join golfers from UCLA and Denver for the Sunday's final round and the groups will start the day from the 10th tee box at 7 a.m. CST.
"We got off to a really good start on the back nine today at even par and things were going pretty well for us," Tulane head coach Andrew Pratt said. "But we hit a little of a jam on the first three holes and gave back a few and didn't finish strong. I think our youth and inexperience really showed on the last nine holes. We need to come back tomorrow more focused and put together a great round and post a good finish. I am proud of the way we are fighting and hanging in there against a great field."
The Auburn Tigers maintained its lead on Saturday and heads into the final round with a five stroke lead over defending tournament and national champion Alabama. North Carolina is third, followed by USC in fourth and Texas A&M and Georgia round out the top five squads.
Auburn's Marta Sanz overtook UCLA's Erynne Lee for the top spot on the individual leaderboard with a 3-under round today. Sanz holds a two-stroke lead over Purdue's Paula Reto.
