NEW ORLEANS - Tulane juniors Linn Gustafson (-2) and Janine Fellows (-1) combined for a 3-under par effort and helped the 31st-ranked Green Wave to a 1-over par 289 total and a 16th place finish during the final round of the Mason Rudolph Championships at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.

The 2009 edition of the Mason Rudolph was shortened to 36 holes after torrential rains flooded the area on Saturday. Eighteen holes were played on Sunday.

Starting on the 10th hole, Gustafsson played even golf through the first four holes on the back nine but heated up with four birdies on her next five holes and finished her first nine holes at 4-under par. Moving to the first hole on the front nine, Gustafsson was even par through her first six holes, but back-to-back bogeys at holes No. 7 and 8, followed by an even-par putt on her final hole, gave her a 2-under par round for the day. Following her even-par round on Friday, Gustafsson was 2-under par for the event and finished tied for 20th.

Fellows followed up her 2-over par round with the best round of the day by a Tulane player with a 3-under par 69. She got off to a rough start with a bogey on her first hole, but she quickly rebounded with four birdies on her next eight holes, all of which came on the back nine after starting at the 10th hole, giving her a 3-under par effort for the first nine holes. She suffered a bogey on her second hole on the front nine, but notched birdies on holes No. 6 and 8 to move to 4-under par. However, a bogey on her final hole gave her a 3-under par total for the round and a 25th place finish with a 1-under par total.

Sophomores Samantha Troyanovich and Ashley McKenney each duplicated their first round total during today's final round. Troyanovich posted a 2-over par 74 on Friday and the same score today to finish with a 4-over par 148 and tied for 61st.

McKenney followed her classmates lead, shooting an identical 4-over par 76 on Sunday. She finished with an 8-over par 152 total, which was good enough for 61st place.

Sophomore Stephanie Wagstaff improved by three strokes from her first to her final round. After posting an 11-over par 83 on Friday, Wagstaff finished with an 8-over par 80 total on Sunday for 88th place.

"We played much better today, but I think we all would have liked to have come away with a better finish," Tulane head coach John Thomas Horton said. "I was very pleased with the rounds Linn and Janine played today. This was a very good event for both of those players."

USC edged out intracity rival UCLA with a 16-under par, 560 (278-282), two strokes better than the Bruins, who ended the tournament with a 562 (284-278). USC's Jennifer Song, the 2009 U.S. Amateur and U.S. Amateur Public Links champion, won individual honors, posting a 12-under par, 132 (66-66), to edge out three golfers, 2008 Mason Rudolph champion Sydnee Michaels, Auburn's Cydney Clanton, and Vanderbilt's Marina Alex, who all ended the tournament at nine-under par, 135.
