Summer 2009: Earned Laura Diaz first team All-America honors on the Future Collegians World Tour for 2008-09 and was one of 10 All-Americans on the first team that combined to win 26 and 36 top three finishers on the futures tour...picked up an important victory when she won her country's open championship with a one stroke victory at the 2009 Colombian Open. She battled windy and tough conditions all week before she came out victorious in her national event. Prior to Tulane: Received a scholarship from the Colombian Golf Federacion to attend the prestigious David Ledbetter Golf Academy and spent her final season at Bradenton Prep in Bradenton, Fla. High School: Notched top international victories and finished in the top seven in six outings in the Future Collegians Tour, including top finishes at The Legends at Orange Lake Open, the Mission Inn-El Campion Open and logged second place at the Golf Club of Bridgewater Open...other top tournament showings included a second place in her home country in the Colombian Open, a top-10 finish at the Doral Publix Junior Classic in Miami, Fla., and a pair of the victories in the Ross Blakie Talbot International Junior Classic in Bermuda in 2007 and 2008...also won the Militar Country Club Open and the Serrezuela Country Club Open in 2008, and was fourth in the SudAmerican Amateur Tournament and turned in a 25th place performance in the Callaway Junior World Championship in Santee, Calif., in 2008.
