Freshman Madison Opfer ties school record for lowest round with 5-under 67

Freshman (2012-13): Has played 29 rounds in 10 events and sports a 74.17 (2151 strokes) scoring average, which ranks currently ranks fifth among TU's single season leaders, and is the second-best effort by a TU freshman...ranks third on the team in scoring and enters the NCAA Championships ranked No. 84 nationally by Golfweek.com...named to the All C-USA second team...has two Top-10 showings and four Top-20 finishes...has seven rounds of par or better, including a 5-under 67 during the opening round of the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate, which tied the school record for the lowest round...recorded her highest finish and best 54-hole total with a third place effort and 6-under 210 total at the NCAA East Regional...her score has counted toward the team score 24 times in 29 rounds this season.

Fall 2012: Played all 12 rounds in four tournaments and posted a 74.67 (896 strokes) scoring average...her lowest round of the fall was a 1-under 71 during the opening round of the Alamo Invitational and finished even par during the final round of the Mason Rudolph Championships, where she finished a 15th...her lowest 54-hole total of the fall was a 5-over 221 at the Alamo Invitational.

High School: Was a four-year letterwinner for coach Richard Sheffield at the Florida Virtual School, where she led the team to state playoff appearances as a freshman and sophomore and played in the state tournament as an individual all four years. Opfer, who is right-handed, played both the top and second spots in the line-up as a freshman and assumed the No. 1position during her final three seasons...captured medalist honors twice in district play and once in regional play and finished as the runner-up twice in regional competition and one time in district action...her best showing at the state tournament was third place as a junior...her career low round was a 67 during her sophomore year in regional action, while her lowest score for nine holes was a 33 in her final regular season match as a senior...outside of high school golf, she qualified for the Women's Amateur Public Links twice and also qualified for the U.S. Girls' Junior event...notched six victories on the Florida Junior Tour in the last four years and also won the 2011 Florida Women's Junior Girls' Championship with a 65-79...tied for 55th in the 2010 LPGA Futures Tour event.
