Summer 1999: Shot a 68 to win the Atlanta qualifier for the U.S. Amateur . . . Qualified for match play in the Women's Western Open, Women's Trans-National and the Women's North-South Amateur . . . Lost to No. 1 ranked collegiate player, and eventual winner, Beth Bauer on the 18th hole in the second round of match play at the North-South Amateur.

Spring 1999: A National Golf Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-American, Buff earned Player of the Year honors from Conference USA, the Louisiana Athletic Directors Association and the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Posted 74.79 stroke average for the year, earning first team all-Conference USA and all-Louisiana honors . . . Captured the Conference USA Individual Championship for the second consecutive season (73-75-74=222) . . . Finished tied for 13th at the NCAA East Regional (73-73-76=222) . . . Buff was Tulane's top finisher in nine of 10 events . . . Ended the 1998-99 season with eight top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments, including four top-4 finishes in six spring events. Shot five rounds at par or better. Named to the NGCA All-American Scholar Golf Team.

Fall 1998: Finished the fall as the 17th rated player in the country with a 74.14 scoring average through five tournaments . . . Posted three top-10 finishes in five fall events . . . Won the Beacon Woods Invitational with rounds of 74-72-75=222 . . . Was individual runner-up in the Lady Paladin with 76-72-74=222 . . . Finished tied for seventh in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational with solid rounds of 72-73-74=219 . . . Shot 150 at the Auburn Invitational and 73-76-77=226 at the Lady Seminole.

Summer 1998: Played in the 1998 U.S. Women's Amateur.

Spring 1998: Conference USA Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year . . . C-USA individual champion with rounds of 72-73-76=221 . . . Rewarded for outstanding freshman year by becoming only the second Tulane golfer in history to qualify for the NCAA East Regional Championships at Duke University . . . Had eighth place finishes in both the LSU/Fairwood Invitational and the USF River Wilderness Invitationals with scores of 225 and 228 respectively . . . Finished the 1997-98 season with a 76.34 scoring average, the then lowest in school history.
