Bowling Hits the Road Again for Southern Challenge

BATON ROUGE - For the third straight weekend the Tulane bowling team hits the road for a tournament, this time the Green Wave visit Metro Bowl for the three-day Southern Challenge hosted by Southern University.

The Green Wave (10-15) is coming off a 7-6 performance at last weekend's Bethune-Cookman Wildcat Invitational, including a 5-1 mark in Saturday's team competition. Tulane is led by Sarah Knapp with a 177.35 pins average, while Jessica Cwik is posting a 165.64 average.

The tournament features host Southern, Grambling State, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi Valley State, Prairie View A&M, Jackson State and Texas Southern in addition to the Green Wave. Friday the teams will roll five matches of four total pin Baker games. Saturday will have five team games, while Sunday is the four best-of-seven bracket matches.

Following this weekend, Tulane will have almost a month off before traveling to Altoona, Pa., for the Red Flash Invitational hosted by St. Francis Dec. 2-4.
