DELAND, Fla. - Tulane's bowling team, fresh off hosting the season opening tournament, visits Florida this weekend for the second annual Wildcat Invitational hosted by Bethune-Cookman at the Sunshine Bowling Center.
The Green Wave (6-6) fared well at the Tulane Collegiate Bowling Invitational last weekend, earning six victories, including two on the final day of competition.
"With only a three-day break between tournaments the ladies have to be mentally strong and focused for the next three days but they are ready to see what happens," Tulane head coach Hayley Veitch said. "We are up against a tough field of competition and hopefully they learn from last weekend that they cannot afford to give away pins"
In addition to Tulane and host Bethune-Cookman, ranked 18th in the nation, the field includes third-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson, eighth-ranked Sam Houston State, 15th-ranked Adelphia and 17th-ranked Prairie View A&M. Also in the tournament are Alabama State, Florida A&M, Monmouth, Morgan State and Southern.
The tournament kicks off Friday with five Baker matches. Tulane will face Sam Houston State, Monmouth, Alabama State, Florida A&M, and will have a bye.
Saturday's format will be five team games. The Green Wave will battle BCU, Morgan State, Fairleigh Dickinson and Adelphia.
