Nov. 11, 1999
NEW ORLEANS, La. - - The Tulane women's basketball team has added a third signee during the early signing period, head coach Lisa Stockton announced Thursday.
Tymeka Moore of Clear Creek High School in Houston, Texas, becomes the third future Green Wave player to sign a National Letter of Intent.
Moore, a 5-9 guard, has been named first-team all-Greater Houston by the area's sportswriters. She was an all-region selection by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches this past year and was a first-team all-district choice as well. Moore was a second-team all-district honoree in 1998. As a junior, Moore averaged 12.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
"Tymeka will be a great addition to our program," Stockton said. "We're excited about what she will add to the team in the very near future. She, Kelly Nadeau and Tiffany Wilson should definitely help us continue our ascent into the upper echelon of college basketball."
Moore joins Nadeau and Wilson as Tulane's first signees of the early signing period. Moore is also Tulane's second signee from Clear Creek High School in as many years. Current Green Wave freshman Jessica Carroll graduated from Clear Creek this past spring.
Tulane continues action on Saturday, as the Green Wave play host to Mississippi All-Stars in a preseason exhibition scrimmage. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Fogelman Arena.
