NEW ORLEANS, La. - - The Tulane women's basketball team has inked two signees on the first day of the early signing period, head coach Lisa Stockton announced Wednesday.
Tiffany Wilson from Marietta, Ga., and Kelly Nadeau from Hudson, N.H., have both signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Green Wave women's basketball team next fall.
Wilson, a 5-11 small forward at Pope High School, was an All-State selection as a junior and was named to the Atlanta TipOff Club All-Metro team. She led Pope to the 1999 4A state championship after helping the squad to a 24-6 record in 1998. Twice named All-County, All-Region and team Most Valuable Player, Wilson led Pope in scoring and rebounding in 1999, averaging 14.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest.
Nadeau, a 5-6 point guard at Alvirne High School, was named to the 1998 honorable mention All-America team by Street & Smith's and was chosen as a preseason honorable mention All-American by USA Today. She averaged 15 points, six assists and four rebounds per game while at Alvirne and was a first-team All-State selection. Nadeau also played with the Crusaders AAU team, helping the squad to five straight AAU state titles. She also attended the WBCA Super Select Camp in Atlanta this past summer.
"We're very excited about having both Tiffany and Kelly join the team," Stockton said. "They both have had outstanding high school careers and should add a great deal to the program."
Tulane continues action on Saturday, as the Green Wave play host to the Mississippi All-Stars in a preseason exhibition scrimmage. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Fogelman Arena.
