NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane University women's basketball team will play a pair of nationally televised games during the 2011-12 season, Conference USA announced on Tuesday as part of its annual Media Day festivities.

Fox Sports Network will be on hand at Fogelman Arena on Saturday, Jan. 29, when the Green Wave play host to Marshall, and Tulane's road trip to East Carolina on Feb. 2 will air on the CBS College Sports Network. There is a possibility for additional television games during the non-conference portion of the season. In addition, the Green Wave have an opportunity to play before a national audience during the 2012 C-USA Women's Basketball Championship, which is slated for March 7-10 at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse on the University of Memphis campus.

"Any time you can play on national television is a positive for the University, Conference USA and the sport of women's basketball," Tulane head coach Lisa Stockton said. "Conference USA has improved so much over the last few seasons and this is a great opportunity for us to show the nation the level of play that is on display every time one of our member schools takes the court."

The Green Wave are in their second week of preseason practice and the team continues to work toward another successful season. Tulane returns seven letterwinners from a year ago when the Wave went 23-11 overall, finished tied for fourth in the C-USA regular-season standings with a 9-7 league record, advanced to the C-USA Championship title game for the second consecutive season and earned a bid to the WNIT.

Three players - senior Brett Benzio, junior Olivia Grayson and sophomore Whitney Bibbins - bring starting experience, while juniors Janique Kautsky and Tyria Snow along with sophomores Brittany McDonald and Brooke Blankenship provided depth off the bench.

The 2011-12 team welcomes back the services of three players who redshirted as true freshmen last year - Katye Magee, Rhea Nelson and Ashley Westby - and the Green Wave added incoming freshmen Danielle Blagg, Tiffany Dale, Adesuwa Ebomwonyi and Jamie Kaplan for the upcoming season.

Season tickets for the 2011-12 Tulane women's basketball season are now for sale through the Tulane Athletics Ticket Office. Floor seats are $100 with reserved courtside and end-court general admission going for $85 and $50, respectively. The Tulane Ticket Office is located on the first floor of the James W. Wilson, Jr. Center on Ben Weiner Drive, and tickets can be purchased in person, over the phone by calling 504-861-WAVE (9283) or via the Internet at www.TulaneGreenWave.com.
