NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's basketball team will go for its third-straight win as the Rice Owls visit Fogelman Arena on Thursday at 7 p.m. The game will air nationally on CSTV, and is part of a national Think Pink program promoting breast cancer awareness. Alendra Brown posted 12 points and nine rebounds in the Wave's 61-38 win at Rice in January.
As part of the Think Pink campaign, both teams will warm up in pink, while fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game.
The Green Wave will distribute pink rally towels to Fogelman fans, and make a donation to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation based on each free throw Tulane makes. Fans are invited to join with a pledge per free throw.
Tulane (13-10 overall) sit at 3-7 in Conference USA, but has won back-to-back games over East Carolina and Marshall. Rice was Tulane's first C-USA victim, as the Wave posted a 61-38 win in Sharp Gym in Houston on January 4.
Brown paced Tulane with 12 points and nine boards, while Brittany Lindsey added 11 points and seven rebounds. Chassity Brown chipped in 10 points and six rebounds to go with a pair of assists and steals.
The Green Wave held Rice to 28.1 percent shooting for the game, allowing 19 points on eight field goals in each half.
The game was the last win for Tulane prior to the current two game win streak, as the Green Wave went 0-7 during Carnival. Since Fat Tuesday, Tulane is 2-0 during Lent.
Tulane is holding opponents to .376 shooting from the field in the last two games, an average of 58 points per contest.
Following Thursday's game, Tulane remains at Fogelman Arena for a 2 p.m. tip-off Saturday against Houston. The Green Wave then take to the road for games at UCF (2/22) and Southern Miss (2/24).

Deuce's Dimes: Langford is Fifth to 500 in Conference USA
Junior PG Ashley Langford became the fifth player in C-USA history with 500 career helpers on Sunday vs Marshall. With 501 in 82 games (6.11 APG) she ranks fifth all-time in C-USA history.
She became Tulane's career assist leader in only 69 games.
Langford ranks 19th in the NCAA in assists per game.
A-Plus
Freshman Tiffany Aidoo tied her career high with 13 points against Marshall and added a career-best seven rebounds. She is averaging 7.0 points per game in her last 11 outings. In six games as a starter she is averaging: 6.7 PPG, 3.5 RPG as a starter after averaging 5.4 PPG and 2.2 RPG off the bench.
Long Range Luckhurst
With 171 three-pointers in her career, senior Nikki Luckhurst is fourth all-time at Tulane in three-pointers made. She sits three back of Britt Themann (1999-03) for third all-time. Luckhurst is nine shy of joining the C-USA career top 10 list in made threes.
Langford Leads Late at East Carolina
Ashley Langford scored seven of her career high 28 points in the final three minutes of Thursday's win at East Carolina, Tulane's final seven points in a five-point win.
Stealing is a Virtue?
Chassity Brown leads Tulane with 45 steals, including 38 since being added to the starting lineup (15 games). While averaging 2.5 as a starter, she has turned those steals into an easy 25 points. She picked a career-high six in Tulane's win at East Carolina.
Hand A-Lend-ed
Senior forward Alendra Brown is averaging 9.0 PPG and 6.9 RPG in her last 15 games. She sprung for a career-high 16 points in Tulane's win at East Carolina on 7-of-11 shooting. She has reached double-figure scoring in six of 16 games, with two double-doubles, and two outings in which she was one rebound short of a double-double.
Chassity's Scoring Virtue
Sophomore Chassity Brown sprung for a career-high 23 points at SMU, including five three-pointers. Since being inserted into the starting lineup against Rhode Island, she has averaged 9.1 PPG and 3.4 RPG in 15 games. In her first eight games off the bench, she averaged 4.6 PPG and 2.1 RPG.
The Brit Has Arrived
Redshirt freshman Brittany Lindsey is second on Tulane in scoring with 11.1 PPG, and has scored in double-figures in 15 of 23 games this season.
Free Throw Throw Down
Ashley Langford ranks ninth in the NCAA in free throw pct and leads C-USA at .885 (92-of-104). She currently is Tulane's career leader at .862 (269-of-312).
Out Shoot `Em
Tulane is 8-0 when connecting at a higher field goal percentage than its opponent this season, and 4-10 when posting a lower percentage. (Tulane and Winthrop posted an identical .333 FG% in the Wave's win on Nov. 18).
Under Pressure
Tulane has forced 20 or more turnovers in nine games this season, including 122 turnovers forced in the last six games. The Wave forced 29 Tulsa turnovers and are third in C-USA with 19.6 miscues forced per game in conference games.
Lifted By Langford
Junior PG Ashley Langford is now 10th all-time in career steals at Tulane with 155, tying Roma Coleman (1991-95).
Langford Sets C-USA Longest Free Throw Streak
Ashley Langford made 43 consecutive free throws, the eighth longest streak in NCAA history and longest in C-USA history. It began with her final throw against Kansas State on Nov. 21, and ended11 games later with her first free throw against UTEP on January 12. The NCAA record is 66 by Richmond's Ginny Doyle (1991-92).
Calm at the Line
Tulane's .722 free throw percentage (319-422), is currently the second-best team free throw percentage in program history.
