NEW ORLEANS, La. - - The Tulane women's basketball team will welcome back a host of former Green Wave players this weekend, as the current Wave squad plays host to league rival Louisville and Cincinnati.
The 25th Anniversary Celebration weekend begins on Friday, as the Tulane Athletic Department and Alumni Affairs will sponsor a pre-game block party outside of Fogelman Arena prior to the Tulane-Louisville women's basketball game. Tip-off for the game between Conference USA's two division leaders is set for 7 p.m.
The festivities continue on Saturday, when the Green Wave will hold a Silver Anniversary Celebration Dinner at the world famous House of Blues. The dinner will feature both the current Green Wave players as well as a All-Quarter Century team that was selected by Tulane women's basketball alumni. Tickets are available for $30 and can be purchased through the Tulane ticket office.
On Sunday, the Green Wave will play host to league foe Cincinnati at 2 p.m. Former Tulane women's basketball players will be honored at halftime of Sunday's game.
"This is just an exciting weekend for us," Tulane head coach Lisa Stockton said. "We are celebrating 25 years of women's basketball and we're expecting a large group of former players to attend. On top of that, we are hosting two of the top teams in Conference USA in two very important games over the weekend."
