NEW ORLEANS - The Green Wave women's basketball team begins a four-game road stretch as Tulane meets UTEP on Saturday at 5:35 CT in the Don Haskins Center. Tulane is 8-1 away from Fogelman Arena this season. Ashley Langford is averaging 11.2 PPG and 5.8 assists per game in Conference USA action. Tulane (11-7 overall, 1-4 C-USA) enters Saturday's contest at UTEP on a four-game skid, just the fifth time Tulane has lost four straight since 1993-94. The Green Wave should be glad to get back on the road, as they have a 5-1 record in true road games, a 2-0 neutral site mark, and a one win at New Orleans Arena for a 8-1 total away from Fogelman Arena. The key to the slide has been defense, as the Wave allowed Houston, UTEP and Memphis to shoot a combined .533 percent from the field. The Green Wave held opponents to a .368 field goal percentage in the first 14 games of the season. Tulane straightened out its defense Sunday against UAB, holding the Blazers to a .393 mark from the field, but fell 67-56. Brittany Lindsey tied for a game-high 18 points while Alendra Brown added eight points and 10 rebounds for the Green Wave and Nikki Luckhurst added eight points. The Miners enter the game at 14-2 overall, 5-0 in Conference USA. This week, UTEP comes in at 30th in the AP poll voting, the highest in its program history.
