On opening the C-USA portion of the schedule on Thursday at Marshall
"When you start Conference USA play, everything changes. Every game really matters. We talked a lot as a team about how we just play these teams once and you've got one shot at them. Going on the road for two games is certainly a big challenge for us to start the (conference) season, but we're excited about conference play."

On how her team is playing of late
"If you take the LSU game out, we've played very well. We've gotten better and improved. We see some players gaining confidence. Tierra Jones is playing very, very well. Jamie Kaplan is probably playing the best we've seen her play. You see the freshmen gaining confidence. With all of that, I feel that we have built some momentum heading into conference."

On how her team matches up with the Thundering Herd
"They're doing a nice job. They've got a lot of nice offensive sets that they run. They've added some junior college players to their four-year players who are really very athletic. They're going to press. They're going to create a lot of havoc with their defenses. They'll switch their defense. We've going to have to be ready. It's always a tough place to play up there and it's a tough travel day."

On starting the C-USA slate with consecutive road games
"I think it's challenging to play two road games in a row. This situation is a little different because we're kind of back to travel partners again. I like that we're traveling on this trip without classes hanging over us. Our players don't have the stress of missing class. We don't start classes until Monday, so it's going to be nice to knock two games out of the eight road games right quick."

On the overall health of her team
"I think we're healthy. In early December, we were fighting through some things. Now, our players are healthy. We've really done a nice job during the break of getting back on a lift schedule and hopefully we can get through conference with a pretty healthy team."

On the team's mindset opening the C-USA season
"We've always looked at the conference season and those 16 games as being its own season and I think it's important to look at it that way. You've got to separate things into segments. I feel that we've gotten better in the non-conference (games). We really had a challenging schedule so far and we're hoping that really helps us as we go forward. This is our last year in Conference USA. We certainly want to leave on top and have some success."

On the team's goal of leaving Conference USA on a strong note
"We would like to do that. Obviously Conference USA has changed so much this last year. We have a lot of teams that we've never played before. For us, we've been a charter member of the conference and it's kind of bitter sweet. We're excited about where we're going but we certainly have some great memories as a member of this conference."
