NEW ORLEANS, La. - - Tulane junior center Janell Burse is ranked in the Top 20 of four national statistical categories, according to the most recent NCAA women's basketball statistical release.
Burse, a native of New Orleans, La., is one of just six players nationally to be ranked in the Top 20 in both scoring and rebounding. She checks in at 19th nationally in scoring with a 20.4 points per game average, and stands 14th nationally with 10.8 rebounds per contest average. She also ranks 20th in field goal percentage (.589) and tied for 19th in blocked shots (2.2 bpg).
Senior All-American Grace Daley is ranked fifth nationally in scoring at 23.6 points per game, making Tulane the only school in the nation to have two players in the Top 20 in scoring.
As a team, the 19th-ranked Green Wave are tied with Connecticut, Mississippi State and N.C. State for the national lead in winning percentage as the four schools are the country's only undefeated teams. Tulane is also ranked fourth nationally in scoring offense (85.5 points per game) and 15th in scoring margin (+19.2 points per game).
Tulane returns to action on Friday, as the Green Wave play host to Conference USA rival UAB at Fogelman Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CST.
