Tulane Head Coach Lisa Stockton
On the sense of pride her team takes in hosting the Tulane/DoubleTree Classic
"I think it's a very big sense of pride for us. We know there are quality teams in here and it's one of those traditions that we'd like to continue. I thought this was a good win for us tonight."
On the play of McNeese State and the Baggett sisters' ability to hit big shots throughout the weekend
"They weren't the only ones. They were getting 3s from other players, too, and that definitely pulled our defense out. I felt like our defense played tough. Down the stretch, our defense was really tough. We got rebounds. We had a lot of shots that we missed, but one of the keys was the rebounds. We out-rebounded them by 12 and were able to get second-chance opportunities and they weren't."
On Tulane's rebounding effort against the Cowgirls
"I felt that Tiffany Dale played like she never got tired out there. She was all over the boards. Some of the shots that she missed today were so close, but she was so aggressive and it was good to see. I thought Adesuwa (Ebomwonyi) had her best game of the year. She came in and really gave us a lift. She helped us close that gap and really helped us get that lead at the half."
On the MVP performance of Whitney Bibbins
"She got hurt in the first half, so we weren't sure of her status for the second half. She obviously came back and did a really good job. She's just a fun player to watch because she does so many things well. It's not just scoring. She had a double-double with 11 rebounds, she defends and she blocks shots. She really is a complete player."
On Tulane's comeback late in the second half
"Going into the game, we felt that this was going to be a close game all the way. We told them that we may be behind and we have to just play. If they hit a shot, we just have to come out and play and stay within our game. I thought our team did a nice job of that tonight - probably better than we've done all year - of not getting down when we let some shots go. We were very aggressive and I think that was the key."
On the way her team bounced back tonight after letting Eastern Michigan get back in the game yesterday
"I think we played tougher. We really played tough tonight and we made shots when we needed to. Different people stepped up. Olivia Grayson had a really great game. She didn't make a lot of shots but she did so many things on the floor. It was a good win for us and very much of a team win."
On what her team looks to do with one non-conference game left to play
"Obviously, everything rests on conference play. We've got one more (non-conference) game and we want to improve. We've got some time to really break things down and improve. It's all focused on conference play. Non-conference is fun, but it's business when it comes to conference."
Redshirt-Sophomore Forward Whitney Bibbins
On the team's overall performance today against McNeese State
"I think we came out with a lot of intensity and came out ready to play. We were focused and did the little things we haven't been doing. We've been working on a lot of things. We did well with our communication. I think we just played really well today."
On McNeese State's ability to hit big shots throughout the ballgame
"It was frustrating. However, we were able to lock them down on some. They did make a lot of big shots. The (Baggett) twins did really well, but we just came out ready to play."
On her MVP performance and her play of late
"I think my teammates have really been encouraging me a lot. They've been pushing me and they've been giving me some good shots. They've really been there and motivating me."
On the team's focus for the final non-conference game of the year on Dec. 7 vs. Loyola
"We just need to work on the little things and get everything right. We need to come to practice every day ready to work and do the best we can. This is kind of a test before the big conference play, so we just have to be ready to go for conference."
Senior Guard Olivia Grayson
On if winning the Tulane/DoubleTree Classic is a point of pride for the team
"Definitely. We take this tournament very seriously because it's our own and we have to own it. We've won it for the past four years (that I've been here) and we're very proud of that."
On the team's ability to come back late to win the game
"We knew that they weren't going to go away. They're a very scrappy team and play really hard, so we knew were going to have to play for 40 minutes today. We just came out with a lot of energy for 40 minutes."
On the performance of teammate Whitney Bibbins
"She's a special player. I've known her for a few years because we played against each other in AAU. She does everything. She's special."
On what the team did to rally from a seven-point deficit with 7:43 to play
"Coach really challenged our toughness from yesterday's game and we learned from that."
On the team's focus heading into the final non-conference game of the year
"We're really focused on conference play because that's when it really counts. We'll use this next game to prepare for conference and SMU is our first conference game."
