Overall thoughts on the game
"It was a good win, and a win on the road. One of the things that we're trying to accomplish is we're trying to play a lot of players and get good minutes from them. We're really challenging them to come in and do what they do. If they're a rebounder, they've got to come in and do that. Same thing if you're a scorer or a shooter. I thought Katye Magee had a really good game tonight. She came in and hit some open shots, and she also played very well defensively. She used her size tonight. We're going to keep developing. I think the players will start understanding their roles a little better and we'll keep that defensive pressure on."
On the improvement she saw from Friday until tonight
"We did a much better job tonight coming out in the second half. I thought we kept our intensity up, the defense was a little more aggressive and we got some steals. They had some turnovers in the second half that really hurt them but they didn't have as many open shots and that was key. I thought Louisiana Tech had some open shots in the second half. Our rebounding kept us in it. Our players really hit the boards. I'm looking at the stat sheet and Olivia has 10 and that's great for a guard."
On the performance of sophomore guard Danielle Blagg
"She really helped us. Danielle obviously helped us with her shooting, but she had some blocked shots and she had her hands in a lot of things. People don't realize this, but it's really tough to shoot over Danielle. She was really bothering them on defense and when we made that run, took the lead and didn't relinquish it, she really helped us then."
On the performance of sophomore forward Tiffany Dale
"We didn't know if she was going to play tonight - she got hurt in practice - and I'm glad she did. She played really aggressively. I'd like to see Tiffany a little stronger on the boards, but offensively she is someone that we go to. She alters a lot. When you look at the film from these first two games, you'll see Tiffany altering some shots even if she doesn't block them. She's a big presence for us. Obviously, that five spot is tough for us right now. Brittany McDonald had a tough night tonight. She's in there fighting and Chinwe is really getting used to the speed of this game. Those two will really help us as they come along.
On what sophomore guard Jamie Kaplan brought to the team off the bench
"I thought it was her penetration, her attacking a little bit more and her being a little more aggressive. When they were trying to press up on us, she created there. She drew a foul, she made the shot, but she also drew the defense in and got some other people shots."
On looking ahead to Friday's game at Southern
"The turnovers are a real problem for us right now and we've got to handle that. Our turnovers aren't coming against presses. We're our own worst enemy when it comes to turnovers. Southern really played well against us last year and we probably should have lost that game. We came back and took it in the last little bit, but I think they're going to be very confident playing us. And playing in Baton Rouge isn't an easy place to play. We're going to have to be ready for a very hostile environment and to play a little more consistently."
