Overall thoughts on the game
"I'm very proud of our team coming out with that intensity. I think sometimes when you sit and watch games, you can come out and be just a little flat, and I thought we pretty much came out on fire and shot the ball well. When you finish the game shooting 48 percent, that's a good day for us. It's great to see Tiffany shooting well and she just got her 1,000th point today so I'm really proud of her. We did a lot of good things last year so we want to come here and make some noise."

On the team's red-hot start
"I sound like a proud mama sometimes, but we play hard. We don't always make our shots. We don't always do the smart things all the time but we play hard and we play aggressive. I thought we came out and just got our confidence early because of our intensity. It was nice to see different players scoring. It wasn't one of those nights that you thought one person did it all. And I think that gave us a little confidence."

On Tulane's overtime loss last week at Houston in the regular-season finale
"We played so well that game. When you look at it, they shot a bunch of free throws, it was really out of our hands then. Our team played so hard, very smart, and so together...We are (potentially) going to have another shot. You get them now or you get them later. It gives our team a chance. In our mind, we can match them. They are a fabulous team. But if we come to play, we can be as good as anyone. We have gained a lot of confidence from that. This team will compete, no matter who we play."

"Coach told me I got my 1,000th point when I came off the bench but that kind of slipped my mind and kept playing. I remember last year, we came out a little sluggish but I think we have a lot of experience. We all came out thirsty and ready to play. I think that helped us and we all came out shooting the ball really well."

"I think my team just puts me in the position to be successful. That's my coaches and teammates...I think that's the mentality we are taking. But honestly, we are just taking it one game at a time. We are just ready for whoever we are going to play next."

"Tulane is an excellent basketball team. Obviously they are very balanced and got to the free throw line like you need to at this stage of the year so I give them a ton of credit. I would like to just talk a little bit about my Senior Kim Gay, that she stepped up and played incredible tonight. It was a tough game. I mean it's a tough pill to swallow, but we are hoping that this isn't the last game. "

"Up and down year, it's been like a roller coaster ride. There have been some huge moment and there has been a lot of learning and a lot of growth. The basketball team that I am currently coaching is much different than the one that I coached back in November and I am proud. We are doing so much better and the future is very bright at East Carolina."
