Head Coach Lisa Stockton

Overall thoughts on the game
"I thought tonight was really special for Brett to be able to do that here. As we looked over the season, I knew her stats had to be pretty good to make it. For her to be able to do that here at home with the crown, which was great, I certainly feel she got the recognition she deserved."

On if she schemed to get Benzio the ball to help her reach the 1,000-point plateau
"Going in, especially against the zone, we should go in there anyway but I felt like her teammates were really trying to get it to her. She really moved and was looking for the ball. I knew she was going to get the rebounds, whether it was here or in the conference tournament, but sometimes points for the big kids can be a lot tougher. I was glad that she had a little confidence going into it and had nine at the half."

On claiming the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Conference USA Championship
"I'm really excited about that. For us to have that bye was so important. We'll be able to kind of watch what's going on and it gives us a little more rest. It's a new season for everybody so we've got to be ready to go. We had a great season and I think this is a tremendous reward for the team."

On holding Houston to a 24.6 field goal percentage
"They struggled with their shooting percentage, but our defense over the first 30 minutes of the game was very, very good. I thought we challenged shots. We didn't give them a lot of easy ones. We switched off on (Roxana) Button and different players guarded her and did a good job with her. The defense really geared it up a little bit tonight."

On Tulane making a nice run to open the second half
"I thought we were patient on offense, which we haven't been so much lately. We really took good shots and we did a much better job of sharing the ball. It was a good performance. Our goal was to have good team basketball tonight and play with good energy for 40 minutes. It's easy in a game that gets away not to have good energy and I really challenged the team in that last five minutes to make sure we finish this off strong because that's where we've really faltered."

On getting a win in the regular-season finale
"It gives us confidence. This team is playing with 10 players and five of them are freshmen. A lot of it is about confidence and a lot of it is about our upperclassmen to be able to lead this team in the championship. It was very important to win, and not just win but to win significantly."

Senior Center Brett Benzio

Overall thoughts on the game
"It was a very nice day. I would like to say that first of all, I'm glad it's over. That whole 1,000-point, 1,000-rebound thing - I don't have it hanging over my head anymore, especially going into the tournament. Tonight was just a big night for us. We've been struggling lately, and to come out and put up 71 points on the board when we've been struggling to score, I think that's really important. That kind of gives us some momentum that we can use going into the tournament. Now we're the three seed, so everything kind of lined up well for us. We got that bye. Now all we have to do is take care of business."

On surpassing the 1,000-point, 1,000-rebound mark tonight against Houston
"It was amazing. I've seen people get 1,000 points before. Tiffany (Aidoo) got it last year, then Brittany Lindsey and I saw Turtle this year. To be able to do it myself and say that I've accomplished a goal that I set out to do at the beginning of the year, it's just really awesome. I'm overwhelmed right now."

On if she was keeping a count on her stats as the game went on
"I did and I actually lost count of my rebounds at one point. I was thinking, `Oh God, how am I going to do this if I don't know.' My teammates where always there, reminding me, `Brett, two more...one more' the whole time. It was great to have them support me like that. I'm the only senior, and for the underclassmen to be enjoying it just as much as me - I think they enjoyed my Senior Night as much as I did."

On the play of her teammates against the Cougars
"They played very, very well. It was a collective thing. Without them out there, I couldn't have done what I did. I can't pass the ball to myself. I can't dribble the ball up the floor. I can't do those things. For my teammates to be able to do it for me and set me up in a position to be successful was great. Turtle came in and hit shots, and that was really important. She kept the momentum going, and that's really important. She kept the momentum going, and we've struggled recently keeping the momentum once we subbed. Turtle, Ty, all of them, really came in and just kept the momentum. As we go forward, it has to be everyone together."

On Tulane getting the No. 3 seed in the upcoming C-USA Championship
"It's a new season. It's a completely new season. We have a separate season after the non-conference part of it, and now this is a whole new season. Now, we can overlook the things that we did wrong, look past the losses and kind of learn from it and move forward. Right now, we're in a good situation and we don't want to dwell on the losses going into postseason."

On her thoughts when scoring her 1,000th career point
"On that play, I realized they were going to foul me. They're mauling me so I'm just going to put the ball up, get to the free-throw line and get my two free throws. When the ball went in, I was speechless. My teammates jumped me and I can't even describe the joy I felt at that moment. It just worked out. A lot of things worked out for us and that's all that we needed."
