Overall thoughts on the game
"In the first half, we took good shots and they didn't go in. We ended up with 18 offensive rebounds, but we had 14 by halftime. That was really keeping us in the game. We did a super job with effort. This was a great effort game today. We came out and shot so much better in the second half. We did a much better job in the second half of taking good shots and creating shots."
On Tulane having nine steals and scoring 17 points off 16 UAB turnovers
"The thing that I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to do was we got some steals. We actually had more steals than they did tonight, which was a nice thing, and we didn't turn the ball over. The fear is that when you turn the ball over against a team like this, they're going to score off of that. We didn't do that and that was an important stat for us."
On Tulane being able to stop UAB's runs when it needed to
"Something we did tonight that we didn't do against Houston was when they made that run, we came down and were really patient on offense. Olivia came in and dropped a ball off to Tiffany Dale, and we got a layup. So instead of taking a shot that was not a very good shot, we were able to get a layup in there and kind of stop there momentum. We were a lot more patient on offense."
On the performance of sophomore forward Tiffany Dale
"I think you get that when somebody has confidence. Danielle started the game with a lot of energy and she looked like she was confident. That's really a key. But one thing that Tiffany Dale has done for us is she's been that presence in the paint. They were going in the paint and had to change their shots or pitch it back out because they couldn't score. That's something that doesn't show up on the stat sheet, but it was very important."
