"Foul trouble really dictated that first half and we felt good going in tied at the half. We had some people with two fouls at the half and then Tiffany Dale picked up her third and her fourth coming out. It was tough, but we got a lot of great play. Leslie came in and did some really good things and really attacked for us. Chinwe did a super job of coming in and doing some things. Defensively, we really clamped down at the end. It was really a gut check and our kids came through."
On having a large, vocal Green Wave contingent on hand for Wednesday's win
"It was great. This is a tremendous crowd, especially for a road game. They were loud and it did really feel like a home game."
On coming up with big points when the team needed them
"We were able to make some plays at the end. The person I thought played very well tonight was Adesuwa. She got a lot of tips. She got a tip at the end that we really needed and hit a couple of shots in there that were really huge for us. It's good to get that kind of consistent play from everyone. What I think makes our team special is that Tiffany Dale had a rough night tonight because she couldn't stay on the floor, but other players stepped up for her. This was a good win for us and we should be pretty proud of it."
On playing well as a team down the stretch once again
"I'm glad to see a lot of these games where we've been very good in the last five minutes. That's where, in the past with maybe a little less experience, we weren't as good. Now defensively, we're really clamping down in those last five minutes and we've been able to make shots. That was a big key for us tonight. It was a good win. Rice has a very good team. They're going to beat some teams in this league so we're fortunate to get out of here."
