Head Coach Lisa Stockton
Overall thoughts on the game
"I felt there were parts of the game where we played very well. We executed well on offense. There were sparks of that. Defensively, we played pretty consistently. We just came in and out of playing well to really playing sloppy and I'd really like to clean that up."
On Tulane's defensive effort
"Our defense has really been good. We did give up 11 offensive rebounds today, which is something we don't normally do, but I felt we played pretty consistently. We played a lot of players, had a lot of different matchups and did a good job there. Offensively, we're a good offensive team if we execute things well. We just didn't for a large majority of the night."
On UCF rallying somewhat late in the game
"That's a time that when you've got that kind of lead, you need to make them play defensive more, spend more time on offense and not try to score as quick. A little bit of that is our youth and us not executing. Central Florida has a good program and we've had some good battles over the years. It was a good win for us."
On the team's ability to pull away early in the second half
"I think we just relaxed a little bit on offense. We were taking such quick shots offensively in the first half. In the second half, we executed, took what they gave us and took better shots."
On getting a win today against UCF
"I think it's really important. For this team, confidence is important. Our players felt like they played well at Memphis and just lost. For this game, they couldn't worry about Memphis. They had to let that go. They had to come out and win this. There was a little bit of pressure there."
On the performance of Tyria Snow
"I thought Ty played the best game of anyone tonight. She did a great job defensively. Offensively, she scored when we needed her to. She also got the ball into people's hands to score. This was one of her better games of the year, and it's good to see her having some confidence. We need our guards to play well going into conference play."
Junior Guard Tyria Snow
On scoring a career-high 13 points
"It was just how they played us. Coach talked about how they were going to high hedge it and the lanes would be open for the guards. It was given to me so I just had to go up in there and create my shot."
On the Green Wave's defensive effort
"Coach always talks about intensity, intensity. Every possession counts. We have to be focused on our assignments. The coaches do a good job of telling us what each player is going to do so we pretty much know what they like to do. The coaches do job of telling us how to shut them down so we just have to go out there and make sure they don't get off and do what they're good at doing."
On the importance of getting a win today after falling at Memphis in Thursday
"It was very important. It's better to be 1-1 rather than 0-2. We kind of have a little momentum going into our third game in conference. To get this win and get our confidence up was very important."
