Brian Mears is in his third season as Tulane's director of women's basketball operations and fifth overall with the team after serving as a graduate assistant from 2006-2008. His primary duties include coordinating film exchange, overseeing Tulane's student manager staff, serving as the liason to the equipment operations staff, as well as working with Tulane's game operations staff and managing the Green Wave's travel on road trips.
Mears served in a similar capacity with the Tulane baseball program during the 2005-06 academic year, and also worked with the women's basketball team in Lubbock, Texas, following Hurricane Katrina.
A graduate of Tulane in 2003, Mears owns a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science and psychology. Following graduation, he turned down a medical school opportunity to pursue a role as director of basketball operations for the Tulane men's basketball staff for the 2004-05 season.
A native of Houma, La., Mears earned his master's degree in business administration from Tulane in May 2008.
