Former Star Barbara Farris Rejoins WNBA For Another Season

Green Wave Hall of Famer to serve as assistant coach for New York Liberty for second consecutive campaign

Barbara Farris was inducted into the 2004 Tulane Hall OF Fame. Barbara Farris played Basketball for Tulane from 1994-1998. Her outstanding play in her freshman year garnered her a spot on the Metro Conference All-Rookie Team and she was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the Metro Tournament. She was named the Metro Conference Freshman of the Year and was named to the first team All-Metro Conference Squad. As a junior in 1996-97, she was an honorable mention selection to the WBCA ALL-America Team. She also earned first team All-Conference USA honors. She was twice named to the Conference USA ALL-Tournament Team (1997 and 1998). In Farris years on the team she set many career records for Tulane. She currently ranks first in field goal percentage (.637), second in rebounding (939), third in rebounds per game (8.0) and free throws made (408), fifth in scoring (144). She was the Conference USA Player of the Week twice during her time at Tulane. In the 1998 ABL draft, she was selected No.3 overall. She joined the WNBA's Detroit Shock at the start of the 2000 season.
