Entering her second year as a program coordinator at Tulane is Chelsey Richter where she oversees all aspects of the women's basketball and volleyball programs.
In her current capacity, Richter helps plan, schedule and organize team travel, maintains a recruiting database, monitors operating budgets, assists in summer camp organization and serves as a liaison to the athletic administration, supports service areas, vendors, suppliers, scouts and officials.
Prior to coming to Tulane, Richter worked as a community relations assistant with the New Orleans Zephyrs - the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins - during the 2012 season where she assisted with all mascot-related promotions and the Boudreaux's Kids Crew program. In addition, she was a sports writer for The Loyola Maroon - the student paper at Loyola University of New Orleans - was an evening building manager at the Loyola Office of Co-Curricular Programs and served in various capacities with the Loyola Department of Athletics.
Richter has also served as an elite mascot instructor for the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) since May 2008. During her time with the organization, she was named the 2012 UCA Mascot "Above & Beyond" Award recipient and claimed the 2010 UCA Mascot Instructor of the Year honors. Richter suited up in Loyola's Havoc the Wolf outfit for several of the Wolfpacks' home games and also served as the "Voice of the Pack" for various Loyola sports.
A native of Chalmette, La., Richter earned her bachelor's degree in religious studies from Loyola in May 2012. As an undergrad, she served as the Loyola Week Committee Chair for the 2011-12 academic year and was the Loyola Athletics Pep Rally Committee Chair from 2008-2012.
